The facilities of Bonina are designed specifically to be multi-purpose. Bob and Nina believe not only in talking the talk, they also walk the walk of true cattlemen and horsemen. Their corrals are designed for efficient and safe handling of both cattle and horses.
The Cattle Complex was inspired by the efficient working of cattle when Bonina had a 600 head breeding herd; the easy handling and display of cattle during the annual Bonina Bull, Heifer & Horse Sale; and the need to sort and stage cutting cattle between classes with minimal stress and the ability to efficiently exchange cattle between classes. The corral complex features many pens for excellent display of range bulls, and seedstock. The gates are latched at the top for easy open and close from foot or horseback. Cattle flow through the system and can be sorted, loaded or sent to the herringbone to hold just prior to entering the sale line up. Inside the arena, heavy duty 8 foot tall panels form a large sale arena. The Arena works well for horse and cattle events. The excellent "brown sugar" footing and solid sides with rounded corners has made this 110' x 216' arena ideal for cow cutting contests. Walls are painted a "cow friendly" tan color which helps cattle calm quickly when being settled prior to a cutting class. Good food and country music piped outside add to the atmosphere. There are 60 large 12' x 12' horse stalls especially for guests. Additional stalls are brought in to accomodate entries for larger shows. Click on Calendar of Events if you would like to coordinate a visit during a show, clinic or sale. Call or e-mail us to stop by the ranch so we can show you around and talk about cattle and cutting horses. Bonina facilities are available for your horse or cattle event. Please contact us to make arrangements. Also, check out our new Stop & Stall service while traveling with your horse.
